Donna-Marie Peters, a Non-Tenure Track Faculty in the Sociology Department at Temple University, has taught at Temple for fifteen years, primarily courses that deal with topics of race and diversity. She received her Ph.D. in Sociology from the New School for Social Research. She holds an M.A. in Liberal Studies From the New School for Social Research, a M.A. in Theater from the University of Connecticut, and a Post Masters Certificate in Aging from Hunter College. Peter’s research interests, publications and grants have addressed issues of race, class, ethnicity, gender, aging, and the arts in popular culture. She received Temple’s diversity training certificate and is the creator of two race and diversity initiatives at the university: Global Women’s Dialogue events for multi-cultural, international, and white students to dialogue on women’s issues and Can We Talk for faculty to dialogue on best practices for teaching issues of race and diversity.
