“Imagining and Re-imagining Diversity at Temple”
The 2014 Diversity Symposium was organized to develop clear action items aimed at defining diversity at Temple and implementation strategies for improving the numbers of and work climate for diverse faculty, students, staff, and administration. The symposium provided opportunity for conversation and sharing about diversity-related issues at Temple. Participants were given the opportunity to express their diversity concerns, experiences, and questions by sharing with a listening team member and/or by submitting ideas anonymously on an index card at five distinct stations addressing issues of faculty diversity, student diversity, and workforce diversity as well as conceptualizations of diversity and community relations at Temple.
The event was open to Temple faculty, administration, students, and staff and organized by the Faculty Senate, Senate Committee on the Status of Faculty of Color (FOC), the Academic Center on Research in Diversity (ACCORD) and The Faculty Herald with support from the Office of the Provost.
