Anton Motsnoy is a twenty-something young man; the archetypal outsider, separated not only from his peers but even those he would think of as family. As such, he looks for any real sense of connection or relation with the first person he comes across, leading to him jumping to conclusions from imperfect inferences. When he stumbles upon information that indicates he has an older sister, he reaches out to see what he can find, though he knows he may not like what he discovers. Anton is brash and impulsive, preferring to take action and investigate rather than let information come to him in time, and it is through this impulsivity he finds Anastasia Yurievna, who seems a likely candidate to be his older sister. Ana remains skeptical, saying she was never told about any siblings before or after she was born. Anton shows her documents his adoptive parents gave him, which at first seems to change Ana’s mind about him. She suggests that they take a DNA test, and he agrees. The film depicts the two of them getting to know each other, learning about each other and in doing so discovering themselves.
