Milky Way Galaxy Cartoon

This a cartoon schematic of the major parts of our Milky Way galaxy, with a Sloan Digital Sky Survey “wedge” of data and the Sagittarius dwarf galaxy also indicated. This is a simple figure made using Microsoft PowerPoint, but it has all of the major features.

I – and others – have found this figure very useful for orienting people when discussing our Galaxy.
