PECSI Teaching Fellowship Benefits
Teachers who are selected as a PECSI Teaching Fellow will receive:
- Tuition scholarship to complete courses in the Graduate Certificate Program in CS Instruction for Secondary Educators, offered by the College of Science and Technology at Temple University (contingent on good standing and grant funding)
- Graduate-level academic credential from Temple University upon completion of Graduate Certificate in Computer Science instruction from Temple University
- Professional learning days with professional development offered by the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit
- District and school participation in SCRIPT training, offered by the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit, for developing strategic plans for computer science education
- Payment directly to the PECSI Fellow’s school to provide up to 6 days of substitute teaching to support Fellow’s participation in PECSI professional learning days
- Access to practice sessions and coaching for CS Praxis exam
- Training and guided working sessions to develop robust portfolio of teaching materials that align with best practices for equitable and inclusive CS teaching
- Reimbursement for CS Praxis Exam fee
- Reimbursement for registering for Secondary CS Certification through the Pennsylvania State Department of Education
- Membership in a community of practice, with teachers learning and sharing together about teaching computer science and advancing computer science for all in grades 7-12 in Montgomery County schools
