My mothers collection
of thousand butterflies china
the wedding was english countryside
a strawberry mouse with eyes stitched in
great aunt Hannah in a black gingham dress
scowling framed smiling from the office mantel
girls with glowing lanterns glowing faces
houses of lords and commons burning
the chair glued by yellow birds the window with a
view- the blue gingham chaise and buzzards on the roof
my glowing face softly framed smiling by
a million purple paper cranes
and I
a beautiful room in her beautiful house
