Afterglow

you came and I was crazy for you

and you cooled my mind that burned with longing.” – Sappho

If Not, Winter- Fragments of Sappho ( Poem 48, pg. 101)

Here is a picture of an aftermath of a sunset that I took out of my window in Morgan Hall at Temple University. I was sitting at my desk doing school work when I noticed out of the corner of my eye a beautiful pink glare reflecting off a window, so I quickly ran to the window trying to capture the last moment of this sunset. It’s so easy in these times to be trapped indoors and forget to enjoy the beautiful moments life has to offer. We often end up missing out on wonderful moments, such as sunsets, because we are too busy dreading our lives inside doing schoolwork and not interacting with many people. It’s important for us to appreciate the incredible things life already offers and recognize it as hope for a better future.
