Take advantage of Temple’s global reach, and enrich your students’ learning by hosting a virtual guest lecture or student discussion with a faculty member from abroad.
Temple Global Connect, formerly called the International Collaboration Connection Program, was launched in Fall 2020 as part of International Education Week: Global Reach, Global Teach, and the first cohort collaborated in Spring 2021. The purpose of this program is to enrich Temple students’ intercultural learning by collaborating with colleagues across Temple’s campuses and partners worldwide. The program offers an extension of the overseas campuses’ existing virtual guest lectures, broadening participation of faculty university-wide and across disciplines.
What some of our first cohort participants had to say:
“I really enjoyed the challenge of answering questions from students from a different part of the world. In fact, the class had students from all over (not just the U.S. or Japan). Trying to explain something like Black Lives Matter (and U.S. racism) forced me to think on my feet.” – Jason Del Gandio (KLN, MC)
“[MC students] got a European and Mediterranean perspective on terrorism, radicalization, and national security. I had the opportunity to improve my online teaching skills and further explore topics and fields of research that are part of my academic background.” – Diego Pagliarulo (CLA, Rome)
“I learned to make international studies and practices more of my daily education, and I gained stronger relationships with my students by allowing them to extensively share their cultural experiences as they related to business.” – Melissa Glenn (FOX, MC)
