Getting Started with Canvas
Canvas, Temple University’s Learning Management System (LMS), is a powerful tool for teaching and learning. In this workshop, you will be introduced to the benefits of using Canvas. You will learn how to navigate and become familiar with the basics of the interface, activate your current semester courses and combine sections, and understand the types of content you can add or create in Canvas. We will also take time to answer any other Canvas questions you may have.
A Zoom link will be shared via email with all registered guests one hour prior to the session.

Teaching with Zoom
In this workshop, you will be introduced to the basics of teaching using Zoom. You will become familiar with the Zoom Web Portal (temple.zoom.us) and the Zoom Meetings interface. We will discuss basic navigation, the Zoom integration in Canvas, managing participants and chat, polling, breakout rooms, and recording and sharing your meeting. We will also review other features that can enhance your teaching and student engagement.

Join us for a special event hosted by the Center for the Advancement of Teaching to celebrate the hard work and dedication of Temple’s Teaching Assistants! This informal lunchtime gathering is an opportunity to express our gratitude and for you to share stories and network with fellow Temple TAs. With the first month of the semester under your belt, this is also a chance for you to chat with CAT teaching specialists about any questions or challenges you may have encountered so far this semester.
