Randy Espinal, randy.espinal@temple.edu
Randy Espinal was born in New York City but spent the majority of his upbringing in Reading,
Pennsylvania. He graduated from Muhlenberg High School in 2021 before moving to
Philadelphia to pursue his B.S. in Biochemistry. Randy has a strong passion for chemistry and
helping people find enjoyment in the subject. This passion is why he works as a tutor to assist
other undergraduate students learn chemistry and calculus. Aside from academic interests, Randy
is an amateur Muay Thai fighter and kickboxer. He also loves his cat!
After completing his undergraduate degree (major: biochemistry) at Temple, Randy plans to pursue M.S. in Chemistry. The future goal is to join an industry that prioritizes environmental sustainability.
He first joined the Borguet group in the spring of 2024 and his research interest is metal oxyhydroxide catalyzed biologically important reactions.
