One way to reduce window collisions on campus and at home is to install decals, frosting, or tape on your glass windows.
Feather Friendly has an entire website devoted to this issue. We recommend you review their suggestions to determine which product is best for your type of glass surface; they are not all to be treated the same.
If you do decide to go the most convenient route and purchase some decals from Amazon, please apply them to the *outside* of your glass and space them roughly 2″ apart from one another for maximum effectiveness. Applying the decals or tape on the inside of a window is often ineffective because reflections on the outside of the glass can hide them. If you apply your decals greater than 2″ apart from one another, birds may try to fly “through” or “between” the decals, because they perceive open space.
ABC Bird Tape is the gold standard and highly effective.
