Alumni Happy Hour with Dr. John Worsencroft

October 21, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm EDT

The Barnes Club is launching a new monthly speaker series called the Alumni Happy Hour. Each month the Barnes Club will invite a recent Temple history alumnus for a discussion over Zoom about their current projects and their professional experiences after leaving Temple. Rather than a lecture or workshop, these will be informal events where current graduate students can talk with alumni about researching, turning dissertations into books, navigating the job market, and more.
Our first Alumni Happy Hour will be Wednesday, October 21 @ 6:00-7:30 PM with Dr. John Worsencroft. A historian of the military, gender, war, policy, and society, Dr. Worsencroft graduated from Temple where he defended his dissertation titled “A Family Affair: Military Service in the Postwar Era” in 2017. He is now an Assistant Professor of History at Louisiana Tech University and a research fellow with the Waggonner Center for Civic Engagement and Public Policy and the Louisiana Tech Research Institute. He is also a trained public historian. He served as the assistant director at the American West Center, and he also worked at the Philadelphia History Museum as a Temple Allan F. Davis Fellow in Public History.
