Please review the roles for the Barnes Club’s board and consider nominating yourself. Joining the board is not just great for building your CV but will also allow you to actively shape grad student life in the department.

Officer Roles:

President: Coordinating activities of the Board and attending departmental meetings on behalf of graduate students.

Vice President: Coordination of professional development seminars as well as coordinating social activities and planning get-togethers, and supporting the president in their duties.

Treasurer: Finance management, development of fundraising initiatives, overseeing fundraising events, and supporting the financial organization of the conference.

Digital Chair: Managing social media accounts, Barnes Conference promotion, maintaining the Barnes Conference website, and promoting scholarship through digital outreach.

Barnes Conference Chair: Coordinating all aspects of the conference, including, but not limited to developing and organizing the CFP, guest speakers, recruitment, and fundraising.

Barnes Conference Committee: (multiple positions) Responsibilities include planning and executing the conference in coordination with the Conference Chair.

MA Rep: Responsibilities include acting as liaison from MA students to the board and representing their interests in the department.

International Exchange Liaison. This student in residence at Temple will serve as the representative for students visiting Philadelphia on fellowships or in exchange programs, as well as planning and hosting the International Exchange Workshop on Friday just before the Conference officially begins.
