The U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) recently awarded a four-year contract to Dr. Yimin D. Zhang, Director of the Advanced Signal Processing Lab at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Temple University. Under this contract, Dr. Zhang will develop novel techniques to advance the state of the art of distributed radio frequency (RF) sensing applied to congested, contested, and denied radio frequency environments.

Dr. Zhang has been a PI and co-PI on different projects sponsored by the U.S. AFRL and other U.S. Department of Defense agencies, including the Office of Naval Research (ONR) and Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). He participated in the Air Force Summer Faculty Fellowship Program in 2012, 2013, and 2019 in the Sensor and Space Vehicle Directorates, respectively.
