Irem Altiner

I am a 5th year PhD student at Temple University’s Department of Mathematics. I received my B.S. degree from Bogazici University, Istanbul. My research interests are in optimal transport theory and geometric optics.

Apart from my research interests, I am also quite passionate about Data Science and Machine Learning. Observing what one can do with ML fascinates me and encourages me to explore more.

After I graduate I am hoping to find an industry job where I can apply my mathematics background to solve real-life problems. It is important to me to land a job where I can meet and collaborate with scientists from other fields, and where my skills are well-fitting and valued.
