Committee members Fred Rowland and Derik A Badman presented “Open Source Software: Free your computer, free your mind, free your wallet.” Topics included the definition of “open source,” the ideology behind the concept, and numerous examples of open source software available for every major area of computer use, from browsers and photo editors to operating systems and library systems. Approximately 12 library staff members were in attendance.
