This is THE question that most young adults ask themselves when considering what it means to be politically active! Voting is considered the easiest and most straightforward way of becoming engaged, but if that isn’t your cup of tea or if you want to be even more involved, here is a list of things you can do to be politically active.

  1. Know how to get in touch with your local legislators
  2. Register with a political party.
  3. Become part of your local PTA.
  4. Donate to 501 (c)(3) charities.
  5. Participate in local protests!
  6. Volunteer for non-profits such as museums, national parks or cultural centers
  7. Volunteer to operate polling booths.
  8. On election day, consider carpooling with your local elderly or offering them a ride!
  9. Vote in all elections, local or national!
  10. Make financial contributions to a Political Action Committee.

And although the current corona virus situation means you can’t get out there, you should learn these ways so that when it is all over you can be more involved in your community.
