Sonya Clark: Self Evident
May 25–September 8, 2019

Do or Die
A group exhibition organized by Fahamu Pecou
May 25–August 25, 2019

Philadelphia is fortunate to have two exhibitions of works by Sonya Clark this summer. “Self Evident” at the AAMP (to Sept. 8) and “Monumental Cloth: The Flag We Should Know” at the Fabric Workshop and Museum (to Aug. 4). These exhibits of politically-aware and activist art by an important African American women artist — along with Fahamu Pecou’s “Do or Die” at AAMP (to Aug. 25) — would make a great afternoon of art in two Philadelphia museums a mere 5 blocks away from each other. See Libby’s 2011 post on a solo exhibit by Clark at the now closed Snyderman Gallery.
