George Washington standing in a garden

This program is free but registration is required. Space will be limited to 40 guests.

What do you think of when you hear ‘George Washington’? President, commander, and other stately terms likely come to mind. Often forgotten on that list is the word ‘surveyor.’ In fact, most do not know that George Washington, in his youth, had spent time as a surveyor.

So, join us at the American Philosophical Society Museum to witness George Washington as he recalls his youth as a surveyor. Written and performed by John Lopes and brought to you by Historic Philadelphia, Inc. this evening is sure to enchant and add a few new words to your Washington vocabulary. Before and after this program, be sure to swing into the museum to see a survey done by George Washington.

This program is free but registration is required. RSVP here.

Space will be limited to 40 guests.
