Leadership Alliance Summer Research Early Identification Program. Offers closely mentored research experiences in the life and physical sciences, social and behavioral sciences, and the humanities (art history) at 20 research institutions across the country. Ideal for students from diverse background considering pursuing a PhD or MD/PhD in the future. Deadline: February 1.
Fulbright UK Summer Institutes: One of the few major awards intended for freshmen or sophomores (GPA 3.7 or higher). Spend 3-4 weeks at selected UK universities. Deadline: February 11.
Rangel International Affairs Summer Enrichment Program. A six-week summer program designed to provide undergraduate students with a deeper appreciation of current issues and trends in international affairs, a greater understanding of career opportunities in international affairs, and the enhanced knowledge and skills to pursue such careers. This program encourages the application of members of minority groups historically underrepresented in the Foreign Service, women, and those with financial need. Must be at least a sophomore at the time of application. Deadline: February 4.
