

{"id":567,"date":"2023-11-20T20:10:26","date_gmt":"2023-11-21T01:10:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.temple.edu\/voelzlab\/?p=567"},"modified":"2023-11-20T20:10:27","modified_gmt":"2023-11-21T01:10:27","slug":"tim-gets-a-phd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.temple.edu\/voelzlab\/2023\/11\/20\/tim-gets-a-phd\/","title":{"rendered":"Tim gets a PhD!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On Friday, November 17, Tim Marshall successfully defended his Ph.D Thesis &#8220;Comprehensive Markov State Models for Assessing and Improving the Accuracy of Protein Folding Simulations&#8221;. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tim&#8217;s work has focused on using MSMs as a platform for evaluating force fields and for examining the ability of molecular simulations to quantitatively predict how mutations affect folding stability, toward the prospect of simulation-based virtual screening for protein design.
