UbHer focuses on a crucial demographic, women, who often experience harassment and assault during ride-sharing journeys. Incidents involving drivers’ sexual misconduct, as reported by various sources, underline the dire need for a women-only ride-sharing solution. UbHer aims to offer women a reliable and safe mode of transportation, eliminating uncomfortable situations and ensuring confidence and comfort during their rides.
A critical piece in our mission statement is not that we are trying to eliminate these large crimes. More importantly, UbHer was made to build confidence and comfort for women when completing one of many vulnerable tasks. Confidence and comfortability are luxuries that could be considered birth rights to men, yet so few women are lucky enough to experience them. Every day, women face major safety concerns that make what should be a simple experience, like catching a ride an uncomfortable and possibly damaging situation. To maintain this secure environment, UbHer not only caters to female passengers but also seeks to employ a considerable number of female drivers, addressing the current gender imbalance among ride-sharing drivers.
