Description
In October 2006, community volunteers constructed a rain garden at the Igoe, Porter, Wellings Memorial Field. The project was completed prior to the annual Warrington Day event to showcase the concept of rain gardens to the public as a part of the Little Neshaminy Creek Restoration Plan implementation. The rain garden captures and filters stormwater runoff from the soccer field and an adjacent concession stand, reducing the amount of pollutants that will flow into a nearby tributary.
