Theme
The Temple University, Japan Campus Academic Conference Committee invites TUJ educators, researchers, and staff to take part in a collaborative one-day event to build our academic community. We will engage in meaningful dialogue and collaboration to explore innovative approaches to teaching and research through engaging keynotes, dynamic workshops, and inspiring presentations.
Sessions will focus on, but not be limited to, transformative approaches to teaching, including active learning, diverse pedagogical strategies and innovative assessment methods tailored to our diverse student community. The conference will also showcase research efforts by TUJ faculty and staff, highlighting the creative and scholarly work that drives our institution forward. This could include:
- Pedagogical strategies and innovations such as…
- Engaging students in the classroom, i.e., practical approaches to creating active and dynamic learning environments (peer teaching, role-playing exercises, and/or collaborative projects).
- Assessment methods, i.e., innovative and/or practical approaches to evaluating student performance.
- Gamification in learning, i.e., strategies to integrate game elements like points, badges, and challenges to motivate students
- Research development such as…
- Research Initiatives that showcase ongoing or completed research projects by TUJ faculty or staff.
- Evidence-based practices in teaching, i.e., research-backed results on the impact of pedagogical strategies or assessment methods.
- Building a research culture, i.e., discussing how to foster a supportive academic environment for faculty and staff to pursue research.
Our first conference aims to empower participants with new strategies, insights, and connections, and is set to be a start of a tradition that will shape the future of teaching at TUJ.
Additionally, we would like to welcome those who presented at the T-Time events throughout the year to revisit their presentation and show it to the larger community.
