

{"id":47,"date":"2014-11-04T20:17:11","date_gmt":"2014-11-05T01:17:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.temple.edu\/tuarc\/?page_id=47"},"modified":"2024-08-21T17:53:33","modified_gmt":"2024-08-21T21:53:33","slug":"hf-station","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.temple.edu\/tuarc\/hf-station\/","title":{"rendered":"HF Station"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\" align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial\"><span style=\"color: #001a00;font-family: Arial;font-size: medium\">TUARC has two high frequency (HF) stations covering the Amateur Radio bands from 160 meters (1.8-2.0 MHz), 80 meters (3.5-4.0 MHz), 40 meters (7.0-7.3 MHz), 30 meters (10.10-10.15 MHz), 20 meters (14.00-14.35 MHz), 17 meters (18.068-18.168 MHz), 15 meters (21.00-21.45 MHz) to 10 meters (28.0-29.7 Mhz). The primary station is a 100 watt Kenwood TS-2000 HF transceiver that also covers the very and ultra high frequency bands (VHF\/UHF) for Amateur Radio<span style=\"color: #fd0000\"><a style=\"color: #fd0000\" href=\"https:\/\/sites.temple.edu\/tuarc\/satellite\/\"> <span style=\"color: #9f0000\">satellites<\/span><\/a><\/span> and can be completely computer controlled on HF by the Ham Radio Deluxe software. The primary station has a RigBlaster interface to the PC sound card for keyboard CW, RTTY and digital modes. A Vibroflex iambic key can be used for Morse code transmission. The primary station can access the Mosley CL-33-M 20, 15 and 10 meter Yagi antenna and select the Ameritron ECS-4L coaxial cable antenna switch for wire antennas, including the Alpha Delta DX-B for 160 meters through 30 meters. A Daiwa CN-720 wattmeter monitors the wire antennas at the secondary station. PolyPhaser lightning arrestors protect the coaxial and control cables at the station.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial\"><span style=\"color: #001a00;font-family: Arial;font-size: medium\">A 20, 15 and 10 meter Mosley CL-33-M triband Yagi antenna and a 160, 80, 40 and 30 meter Alpha Delta DX-B wire antenna are mounted on the east side tower. An Ameritron RCS-4L coaxial cable antenna switch, controlled at the station, is also mounted<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #001a00;font-family: Arial;font-size: medium\">\u00a0on the east tower with three more positions available.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Primary HF and VHF\/UHF satellite station, secondary HF and VHF\/UHF station, c<span style=\"color: #001a00;font-family: Arial;font-size: medium\">oaxial and control cable grounding in the shack and on the roof and <\/span><span style=\"color: prior TUARC HF stations consisted of a Kenwood TS-520 HF transceiver, AT-200 manual antenna tuner and a HAL Devices CT2200 RTTY terminal which was replaced for a time with a Kenwood TS-440 HF
