This week your child is learning the words flames, potter, decoration, and unearthed. The words come from the book The Pot that Juan Built. Explain what the words mean and talk about them with your child.
Flames – the hot, bright gas that you see when something burns. These flames look hot!
Potter – someone who makes pottery. This potter is making a vase.
Decoration – something used to decorate or to make something else more beautiful. These girls are putting decorations on a cake.
Unearthed – uncovered from the ground, found in the earth. This picture shows an archeologist unearthing an ancient bowl.
Congratulations, you are helping your child grow a large vocabulary!
