Our new words are whistle, officials, soar, and tie. Help your child learn the words. The words come from the book Soccer Counts.
Whistle – a small instrument or pipe that makes a high sound by blowing air through it.
Officials – the person who is in charge of the game and making sure the rules are followed. The official here is blowing his whistle.
Soar – to fly high and with little effort. Eagles can soar through the sky.
Tie – when teams have the same number of points. This game is tied 1-1.
