Our new words are camouflage, walking stick, praying mantis, and ladybug. Help your child learn the words.
Camouflage is something (such as color or shape) that protects an animal from attack by making the animal blend into their surroundings and make them difficult to see.
Walking Sticks are long, thin, and slow-moving bugs, that look like a stick, twig or branch.
A praying mantis is a meat-eating insect that got its name from its ‘praying’ posture of the front legs folded and held together.
Ladybugs are colorful for a reason. Their markings tell predators, “Eat something else! I taste terrible.”
