Our new words are stretched, fussing, mutter, and rascal. Help your child learn the words.

The words come from the book Peter’s Chair. Watch the video below if you would like to hear the story read aloud. Listen for the words and point them out to your child.

Stretched – to pull something to its full length.

Ask your child to stretch out a rubber band or scarf.

Fussing – complaining, crying, giving attention to

Ask your child why a baby fusses. 

Mutter – to speak in a low tone that is hard to understand; mumble

Ask your child to show you how to mumble. 

Rascal – mischievous person.

Ask your child what a rascal might do.
