Humming

Hum is making a noise with your mouth closed. Show your child how to hum “Happy Birthday.”

Whimpering dog

To whimper is to make a little soft, crying sound. Show your child how to whimper.

Holler

To holler is to yell or shout loudly.

Waiting patiently in line

Patient (in this book) means to be able to stay calm when faced with pain, trouble, or a long wait. Show your child how to wait patiently. Patient can also mean a person getting treatment at a doctor.
