Our new words are platter, herb, whisked, and venison. Help your child learn the words. The words come from the book The King’s Taster. There is no video of this book but you can ask your child about it.
A platter is a large plate for serving food.
An herb is a green vegetable that gives food flavor.
Venison is deer meat. A king is likely to eat herbed venison on a platter at a feast.
To whisk is to lightly beat or stir something, often eggs or butter. You can use a whisk to whisk.
Ask your child what is put on a platter (food). Ask him or her to tell you what an herb and venison is. Help your child whisk some eggs for breakfast.
