Jitters
Jitters – nervous, scared. The girl got the jitters from watching a scary movie

Lunge forward at finish line to win
Lunge – a sudden movement toward something. He lunged forward to win the race.
Technique – a particular way of doing something. He had good running technique.

Applaud
Applaud – clap hands, praise.
Ask your child to show you how he or she would applaud at a performance.
