This week your child is learning the words woods, disappear, rattle, and worried. The words come from the book Charlie Anderson. Explain what the words mean and talk about them with your child.
The woods is a place with many trees or a forest.
Disappear means that we can’t see you anymore. If you walk into the woods far enough, it looks like you disappear into the woods.
Rattle is to make a series of hard, short knocking sounds. This baby rattle makes a rattle sound. Rattle snakes also make a rattling sound.
Worried means thinking a lot about something a little scary. This little girl looks worried.
Congratulations – you are helping your child grow a large vocabulary!
