This week your child is learning the words plastic, metal, glass, and round. The words come from the book, Have a Ball. Explain what the words mean and talk about them with your child. As you’re going through the week, try to talk about each word three times.
Plastic – hard, shiny material used to make many things, like balls and toys.
Metal – a hardy, shiny material. Many tools, car parts, and pieces of jewelry are made of metal. This picture shows a metal spoon and a plastic spoon.
Glass – hard clear material used to make things such as windows, bottles, and mirrors.
Round – shaped like a circle or sphere. Soccer balls, baseballs, and oranges are all round.
Congratulations, you are helping your child grow a large vocabulary!
