This week your child is learning the words smooth, rubber, hollow, and solid. The words come from the book, Build it from A to Z.
Explain what the words mean and talk about them with your child.
Smooth – not rough; even. The surface of this vase is very smooth.
Rubber – a tough, smooth substance, sometimes made from a plant. Balls and tires can be made of rubber.
Hollow – having a hole or empty space inside. These bricks are hollow.
Solid – not hollow, firm all the way through. This brick is solid.
Congratulations, you are helping your child grow a large vocabulary!
