Our words are detour, no entry, rail, and yield. The words come from a book about street signs.
Detour is taking a long or roundabout route.
No entry means you are not allowed in.
A rail sign is used to show a railroad crossing is nearby.
Yield means to let other drivers go first.
Look for signs around the neighborhood. Ask your child what different signs mean. Look for a detour, no entry, rail, or yield sign. Your child may enjoy “reading” the sign!
Thank you for helping your child learn new words!
