New Road!

Our words are map, underneath, detail, and instruction. The words come from the book New Road! There is no video of this book, but you can ask your child about what happens in the story.

Map

A map is a picture of an area of land or sea showing physical features, cities, roads, etc.

Underneath

Underneath means situated directly below.

Detailed map

A detail is an individual feature, fact, or item on something. A map with a lot of details would have many things on the map. Look at a map with your child and point out some of the details.

Written instructions

An instruction is a direction or order.

Ask your child what a map does. Help him or her draw a map with details. Talk about what underneath means.

Thank you for helping your child learn!
