Marisol McDonald Doesn’t Match

Our new words are match, clash, sign my name. The words come from the book Marisol McDonald Doesn’t Match. You can listen to the book below. Talk about the words with your child.

Clash

Match and clash are opposites.  Match means go together, but clash means doesn’t match or doesn’t go together. In the book, Marisol likes things that don’t usually go together, like wearing polka dots and stripes. She likes to eat peanut butter and jelly burritos.

Ask your child whether they like to wear clothes that match or clash.

Signing

Signing your name means writing your name.

Have your child practice “signing” their name.

Thank you for the work you do, helping your child learn!
