Student Presentation Awards

This year we are pleased to announce two exciting new awards.  With sponsorship from the AASP Foundation, an undergraduate and graduate student excellence in performance award may be given for the best undergraduate student presentation and graduate student presentation. We will have some judges attending the various sessions and then conferring after the conference to decide if an award shall be given.  The winner(s) get a certificate and a check for $100.00.  Looking forward to many excellent presentations at NASP and tough decisions.

The Colleen Griffith AASP Regional Conference Undergraduate Student Presentation Award

Subcommittee:  to be determined at Regional Conference site

This award will be given to an undergraduate student who has demonstrated excellence in presenting a poster and/or oral presentation at an AASP Regional Conference in 2018.  A panel of judges will determine who, if any, is to receive the award.  A certificate and cash award of $100 will be awarded after the regional conference.   AASPF will determine after the 2018 Regional Conferences if this award should be continued in future years.

This award is named after the mythical daughter of the great Coleman Roberts Griffith, as immortalized by Past-President Sean McCann in his Coleman Roberts Griffith address in Orlando in 2017.  Hopefully this will spur students (and professionals) to explore the life of Coleman Roberts Griffith and his importance in the development of applied sport psychology.

Award

A certificate and cash award of $100 would be awarded after the Regional Conference.

AASPF would fund this initiative for one year (2018) and then decide whether to continue this award.

Additional funds could be donated specifically by donors to this award funding stream.

Award Criteria

The recipient of the award must meet the following criterion:

  • Be an undergraduate student
  • Have demonstrated excellence in presenting a poster and/or oral presentation at an AASP Regional Conference

Submission Guidelines

No submission documents are required.  A three person review team consisting of three professional members, only one of whom can be from the host institution of the Regional Conference, will review student presentations at the Regional Conference and select an undergraduate student, if one meets a criterion of excellence, for the award.

The AASP Regional Conference Graduate Student Presentation Award
