Terrill Haigler—known widely as YaFavTrashman—is a former Philadelphia sanitation worker turned community activist on a mission to make Philadelphia the cleanest city in the world. During the 2020 pandemic, Terrill used his frontline experience to shed light on the challenges sanitation workers faced, sparking a citywide movement for cleaner, safer neighborhoods.
He is the Founder and CEO of YaFavTrashman, LLC and the President of Trash 2 Treasure, a nonprofit dedicated to sustainability and community cleanups. Through these platforms, Terrill has mobilized thousands of residents, coordinated citywide cleanup events, and inspired collective accountability for neighborhood health and safety.
Before launching his civic initiatives, Terrill worked in Environmental Services at Penn Medicine, ensuring hospital cleanliness to protect patient health, and also served as a Dance Instructor with the School District of Philadelphia, where he helped students process trauma through creative expression.
Terrill’s vision, rooted in both service and creativity, has made him a leading voice in environmental justice and community empowerment across Philadelphia.
