BIOGRAPHY
Rosalee Banks is a dedicated lifelong learner and emerging academic, currently pursuing her PhD in Criminal Justice at Temple University. Transitioning from a successful career as a tax filing specialist at an A++ rated insurance carrier, Rosalee leverages a robust operational background, critical thinking, and exceptional organizational skills to advance her research and leadership ambitions. She graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2023 with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Public Health, followed by a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice in 2025, maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA throughout her academic journey.
Her research focuses on pressing societal issues such as white supremacy, extremism, juvenile justice, abolition, and the intersection of digital media with crime and social movements. Rosalee has presented her work at prestigious venues including the American Criminological Society meetings in 2023 and 2025, showcasing her growing reputation as a thought leader in her field.
As the Speaker Recruitment Lead for TEDxTempleUniversity 2025, Rosalee plays a pivotal role in shaping the event’s intellectual and cultural impact. She spearheads the outreach and scouting of diverse speakers across disciplines—ranging from faculty and students to alumni and community leaders—ensuring the event’s lineup reflects a rich blend of perspectives that resonate with the theme, “Discovery Takes Flight.” Her responsibilities include managing the entire speaker application process, conducting initial screenings and interviews, and collaborating closely with the curation and coaching teams to support speakers throughout their development. Rosalee is deeply committed to fostering an inclusive, balanced, and dynamic speaker roster that sparks meaningful conversations and community engagement.
Beyond her academic and event leadership roles, Rosalee brings a creative edge to her life through her passion for ceramics and 3D art, which provides a balanced outlet for expression and reflection. She also enjoys gaming, which sharpens her strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
