Rachel E. Barnes is a corporate attorney, professor, and startup advocate whose career bridges law, business, and global innovation. Currently an Associate at Royer Cooper Cohen Braunfeld LLC (RCCB) and Adjunct Professor at Temple University’s Fox School of Business, Rachel advises clients ranging from emerging growth companies to large corporations on corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and venture capital matters.
Rachel’s academic journey includes a JD-MBA from the University of Virginia School of Law and Darden School of Business, as well as a BA in Economics from the University of Georgia. Her professional foundation was built through roles at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, Greenberg Traurig, and public sector legal internships, where she gained deep expertise in corporate transactions, immigration, and global mobility law.
A dynamic leader and community builder, Rachel previously served as Chair of the National Black Law Students Association (NBLSA), where she helped elevate advocacy for Black law students nationwide. She has been recognized in publications and podcasts for her leadership in equity, access, and representation in the legal profession.
Rachel’s global experiences—spanning travel to over fifteen countries and proficiency in multiple languages—bring a unique perspective to her work. Her professional interests lie at the intersection of sustainability, hospitality/travel, and EdTech, and she continues to champion innovation across industries.
Guided by the belief that law and business should create equitable opportunities, Rachel combines her legal expertise, entrepreneurial mindset, and teaching to mentor the next generation of leaders and to help clients thrive in an increasingly complex, globalized economy.
