On February 17th, TDAC welcomed Kai von Bleicken from FDIC to speak to our members. He spoke to us about career path and how he leverages data analytics in his role.

On February 10th, TDAC held the second Python workshop of the semester. Teams picked their team leader and began looking for data sets and topics to pick for their project.

On January 27th, TDAC held the first Python workshop of the semester. We reviewed various datasets for teams to work on, and divided members into teams where they decided on what data to work with.

On January 13th, TDAC held a welcome meeting for members. We gave an overview of what the semester will look like, including how projects will work, the project competition, what speakers we’re inviting in, and introduced our board members.

Fall 2024

On December 9th, all groups presented their projects that they had been working on throughout the semester.

On December 3rd, TDAC held the last Python workshop for this semester. Teams finalized their coding and finished their presentations.

On November 18th, TDAC welcomed Mursaleen Shiraj from NASDAQ. He spoke about how to navigate the data analytics job market. This includes key interviewing and networking tips, as well as giving insights into what skills are necessary for these jobs.

On November 11th, TDAC held the seventh Python workshop. Teams continued to work on analyzing their data to test their hypothesis.

On November 4th, TDAC held the sixth Python workshop. Teams finalized their data exploration and began to analyze their data.

On October 28th, TDAC held the fifth Python workshop. Teams continued to explore data by creating various visualizations such as histograms and scatter plots related to their topics.

On October 21st, TDAC held the fourth Python workshop. Teams finalized data cleaning and began to explore the data by finding descriptive analytics.

On October 14th, TDAC welcomed speaker Nathan Blascak, from the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia and also a Temple Alum. He spoke to us about how data analytics affects his daily work, and tips on how to get jobs and internships in the industry.

On October 7th, TDAC held the third Python workshop. Teams decided on their data sets and topics and began to put the data into Collab to begin data cleaning.

On September 30th, TDAC held the second Python workshop. Teams picked their team leader and began looking for data sets and topics to pick for their project.

On September 23rd, TDAC held the first Python workshop. We dove deeper into what the project would look like, gave general tips on the project, and formed the project groups. 

On September 16th, TDAC welcomed Milton Mai from JP Morgan Chase to speak over Zoom. He spoke to us about career paths with modeling in the financial industry and went into depth regarding credit risk analysis and loss forecasting.

On September 9th, TDAC welcomed all new members to the organization. We gave an overview of how the python workshops and project would work, the speaker sessions, and introduced the board members.
