“How am I supposed to meet the people who can help me succeed?! There is so much to do and see!”
If you’re thinking that as a new or prospective student to Temple, I assure you, you are not alone! It can be difficult meeting people anywhere you go, and is especially challenging when you have the pressure of the importance these meetings can have weighing on your shoulders. Temple faculty understand this feeling just as much as you are experiencing it, and are there to help you achieve success no matter your comfort level. To that end, Kleinfest was created as the ultimate venue for Klein College of Media and Communication clubs and organizations to gather together and help new students envision all that they can experience while at Temple.
During your first few weeks on campus, you are likely going to hear “get involved!” more times than you can count. This is, though, important advice, and there really is no better way to become a more successful Temple student than by joining clubs, participating in out-of-class activities, and meeting regularly with professors and advisors. At Kleinfest, you can do all of these things in one event, making it one of the best experiences to check out when starting your semester. Within one hour, I found myself talking with key faculty members in Klein, such as Lu Ann Cahn and Tyler DeVice. I also met with student representatives from more than 10 different Klein clubs, something that made me feel far more at home within my choice of college and allowing for perspective on just how much there was to see and do at Temple.

It took me some time to overcome my anxieties enough to participate in Kleinfest, but I am so happy that I did. Simply showing up to events like these speaks volumes about your dedication to getting the most out of the money and energy you’re putting into your college education, and allows you as a student to get acclimated with organizations and individuals that want to help you succeed constantly at Temple!
