I encourage those interested in topics in plant reproductive ecology and evolutionary biology to contact me discuss possible avenues for funding. If you’re not already considering independent Postdoctoral Fellowships, check out programs such as those offered by\u00a0NSF<\/a> or the\u00a0Smith Postdoctoral Conservation Research Fellowship Program<\/a>.

Graduate Students<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Interested in pursing a PhD? I welcome motivated students who share my primary interests to contact me about opportunities in my lab.  Temple Biology<\/a> has a strong core group of faculty in ecology, evolutionary biology, genomics<\/a> and bioinformatics<\/a>. Outstanding candidates may be considered for university-wide fellowships. I highly encourage students to consider applying for an NSF predoctoral fellowship<\/a>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interested students should contact me in advance of applying to Temple\u2019s graduate school.  Please send me your CV, including any research experience, GPA, and GRE scores (if applicable). Include a cover letter explaining why you would like to attend graduate school, how you think you would fit into the lab, and what kinds of research you are interested in pursuing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Graduate study can be intellectually and professionally rewarding, but it is not the right path for everyone. Prospective students should carefully consider how an advanced degree aligns with their academic interests, career goals, financial circumstances, and personal expectations. Many useful resources are available to help students decide whether to pursue graduate study, evaluate potential programs, and identify an adviser whose research interests and mentoring style are a good fit. Duke Univeristy’s How to Choose the Right Graduate School<\/em><\/a> is a good starting place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Undergraduate students<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Temple has several excellent avenues for undergraduates to become involved in research, including the College of Science and Technology\u2019s Research Scholars Program<\/a>, the Temple Diamond Research Scholars Program<\/a>, research credits in Biology<\/a>, or as an Honors Scholars Project. More informal opportunities to participate in my lab may also be available. I encourage students to contact me to find out about current opportunities in the lab.
