Why I Chose to Study Abroad
I decided to study abroad because I wanted to find something meaningful for my future. After graduating from high school in Japan, I was not sure what I wanted to do in my career. I hoped that living in another country and experiencing a different culture would help me discover new possibilities.
For this reason, I chose to study in the United States at Whatcom Community College. It was my first time living abroad, so I was excited but also a little nervous.
What I Learned
Before studying abroad, soccer had always been a big part of my life. However, living in another country helped me realize that there are many important things beyond soccer.
Through studying, meeting new people, and adapting to a different environment, I learned the importance of communication, independence, and stepping outside of my comfort zone. Even though I still have not decided exactly what I want to do in the future, I feel that I gained something valuable that will help guide my path.
Conclusion
Studying abroad was a meaningful experience for me. It allowed me to grow as a person and see the world from a different perspective. I believe this experience will help me continue searching for what I truly want to do in the future.
