Sigma Tau Delta
Sigma Tau Delta (ΣTΔ) works to cultivate the next generation of literary scholars, educators, writers, and leaders through transformative undergraduate and graduate experiences. Founded in 1924, and with more than 35,000 members worldwide, ΣTΔ creates unparalleled opportunities for intellectual growth through academic conferences; publication opportunities; awards, grants, and scholarships; and mentorship networks that connect students with established professionals in English studies.
Alpha Omega Psi Chapter
Temple University’s Alpha Omega Psi Chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, was founded on July 17, 2025, chartered by Rylee Mahnesmith, Eve Keesecker, Joseph Lawler, Peighton Clugston, Brandon McEntee, and Christian Patrick with the assistance of Dr. Casarae Abdul-Ghani (Xi Lambda initiate, Johnson C. Smith University) and English Department Chair Dr. James Salazar. The first induction class includes Rylee Mahnesmith who served as Alpha Omega Psi’s first president, Eve Keesecker as Vice President and Treasurer, Joseph Lawler as Secretary, Dena Stiles-Lawson as Historian, Molly Valentine as Public Relations Chair, and Mallorie Marsan.
Through regular meetings, participation in the Common Reader Program, and special events, the Alpha Omega Psi Chapter aims to increase professional development and social outreach opportunities for English students across Temple’s campus.
