April 1st Online Summit

We’ll start Sexual Assault Awareness Month with four intentional conversations led by Temple University student leaders and campus professionals. Each session will highlight ways we each play a role in creating a safer community – whether we’re online or in-person.

Join us on April 1st starting at 12:00pm EST for the first session, then each 45-minute session will begin on the following hour.

12:00-12:45pm: Exploring Masculinities with Mat Greer of Student Activities, Fraternity & Sorority Life
America is worried about young men. They point to issues of poor conduct, declining academic success, and a lack of positive male role models and use words like problematic, dangerous, and toxic to describe behavior. The problem has been identified; now is time for a movement toward a solution! Let’s talk about Masculinity and how to be better men!

1:00-1:45pm: Taking Action with It’s On Us Temple University

2:00-2:45pm: Starting Uncomfortable Conversations with Sofía Gabaldón, Director of Student Affairs for Temple Student Government
Starting Uncomfortable Conversations is a time to learn about what kinds of conversations need to be had, why it is important to have these conversations, and tips for getting started and keeping your friends and yourself accountable. 

3:00-3:45pm: Understanding Title IX with Andrea Caporale Seiss, Temple University Title IX & ADA Coordinator – Krystal Allen, Associate Director with Student Conduct & Community Standards – Sofía Gabaldón, Director of Student Affairs for Temple Student Government
