Below are a few categories of projects we are currently working on or have previously worked on and a short summary of each category.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #993300\"><a style=\"color: #993300\" href=\"https:\/\/sites.temple.edu\/risc\/geoscience-education\/\"><strong><em>Geoscience Education<\/em><\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">This collection of interdisciplinary \u00a0projects uses cognitive science to explore different aspects of the geosciences as they relate to education.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #993300\"><a style=\"color: #993300\" href=\"https:\/\/sites.temple.edu\/risc\/the-geological-mind\/\"><em><strong>The Geological Mind<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>This essay series, \u201cPlaces that Reveal the Geological Mind,\u201d we explored what goes on in a mind at the cutting edge of disciplinary practice and when first learning geology. We selected a series of places on Earth that reveal both geological processes and the mental processes that extract knowledge from rocks.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #993300\"><a style=\"color: #993300\" href=\"https:\/\/sites.temple.edu\/risc\/projects\/spatial-memory\/\"><em><strong>Spatial Thinking<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>This current project analyzes <span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">spatial skills and reasoning and their relevance for STEM education in late childhood and early adolescence.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #993300\"><a style=\"color: #993300\" href=\"https:\/\/sites.temple.edu\/risc\/previous-projects\/\"><em>Previous Projects<\/em><\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome to the projects of the RISC Lab Group.
