Announcement: REN group is moving to UB on Jan. 2018.
The REN group works on the forefront of Material Nanochemistry and Nanotechnology, including chemical design, synthesis and self-assembly of low-dimensional nanomaterials based on the bottom-up paradigm, with an emphasis on novel photonic, electronic, magnetic and excitonic properties for applications in efficient solar energy harvesting and magnetic energy conversion. We are committed to realizing our vision by focusing on three main thrusts: (1) the precise synthesis and controllable self-assembly of functional nanomaterials for the development of nanostructured solar cells, plasmonics, excitonic material-based nanoscience, and so on; (2) the “innovative” complex carbon-based nanomaterials; (3) rare-earth-free high energy density nanomagnet. The REN group offers research opportunities for graduate, undergraduate and visiting students and postdoc, who are interested in nanochemistry, materials science, engineering work, or a combination of these. We welcome incoming graduate, undergraduate and prospective students, especially those from underrepresented minority groups, to explore our interdisciplinary research by joining us every Friday group meeting. Our lab is located at SERC Room 017, 1947 North 12th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19122.
